Greetings, Family!

Exciting news…Hadrian Suber will be shooting footage for our Father’s Day video this Friday evening, and we would love to feature your friends and family! Here’s the criteria for what we are looking for:

  • Men and women age 18+ (We need both, but particularly men)
  • Not currently a member of Gateway (we are using this video as an outreach effort; all interviewees will be non-Gateway members)
  • Not previously featured in a Gateway video production
  • Comfortable speaking on camera about their thoughts on fatherhood, what it means to be a dad, or sharing stories about their dads
  • Available this Friday evening to meet at a TBD location in the Delmar Loop

The final video will be shared on Father’s Day in our church service, and also shared on our Facebook page.

If you know someone (or more than one someone) who would be interested in participating, please contact Hadrian: 314-496-3095. You can also join your friend/family member for the filming, if you like.

Also on the main viewer….

Gateway Business Directory: We would like to connect members looking for products and services, with members who can provide them. So, we are developing a Church Business Directory!  What a great way to support and encourage one another!  If you’d like to be included, please send your information to Deborah Selzle at dliteful61@yahoo.com.  If you have questions, she can also be reached at 314-585-2115.

All-Church Picnic (June 3rd, Following our FIRST 10am church service!): Heads up! Beginning June 3rd, we will be switching our Sunday service time to 10am. To kickoff summer on this same day, there will be an all-church picnic on the front lawn following church service.

Lunch will be potluck style within each family group, to be coordinated by each family group leader. Bring enough of your dish to accomodate your group members and any guests your group may have. The church will provide water to drink.

Please also bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on, possibly a portable table or two for your group to set up their items. Volleyball net and other sports gear will be provided for pickup games the day of the event.

Titus 2 Women (Saturday June 9th, 9:30am): More details to come soon.

That’s it for this week!
Kathy

PS: For those of you who have kids going to camp, good news! Cabin assignments are being finalized  now by Tim and Crystal Schmidt. And I’m working on check-in forms, counselor info, and compiling medical information for the nurses. Its coming together! Keep an eye on your email for the next week or so as we’ll likely be sending you some important pre-camp information.

tiny house

Good Evening, Gateway!

John and I are settling into our new home (somewhat larger than the one pictured above). But if this email was a house, it’d be a “tiny house”; minimal, but with all the essentials.

Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 13th): We are looking forward to honoring our Gateway moms this Sunday! Please remember to bring a package new diapers if you are planning to give to the St. Louis Diaper Bank.

Eurasian Missions Sunday (May 20th): Less than two weeks remain till Eurasian Missions Sunday. We will have an update for you on the total amount collected this Sunday.

Family Devotionals Input: Moms and Dads, please take a few minutes to provide your input on our Family Devotionals HERE. Family Devotionals will resume soon.

That’s it for this week!
Kathy

PS (Just for fun): The house in the picture above was actually built by a 13-year-old in Iowa for just $1500! His story is pretty impressive. Click HERE to read more about the 89 square foot micro-home and why he decided build it.
