Good evening, Gateway!

This year, we are doing something different for Mother’s Day! In addition to honoring our own Gateway mothers, we also want give all our members — men AND women — the opportunity to “be a mom” to those in need outside of our church.

On Sunday, May 13, we will be collecting diapers to benefit the St. Louis Diaper Bank. These are distributed to local moms in need. We have a goal of collecting at least 500 diapers as a congregation. You can bring any size diapers, but the greatest need is sizes 4 and 5, and also pull-ups and training pants.

Please bring new, unopened packages of diapers for our collection. We will take these to the diaper bank for you following our Mother’s Day service.

Lima Beans

It’s true! The humble, underappreciated lima bean has a holiday all of its own. This coming Friday is Lima Bean Respect Day. You can read about this obscure holiday and fun facts about the lima bean HERE.

One last thing…

We are working to repair some plumbing issues affecting the sanctuary area of the church. For this coming Sunday (and possibly next couple after that), the bathrooms off the sanctuary will be closed. The upstairs bathrooms are still available. Additionally, use of the baptistry will be limited. Please reply to this email if you have questions.

Thanks all! See you this weekend.

Good evening Gateway,

Easter is almost here! Here’s what you need to know about this coming weekend:

Good Friday (Friday, March 30th, 7pm): As in past years, this will be a time of sober reflection about Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross. Worship will include singing, prayer, and scripture reading. Ages middle school and up will join us in the sanctuary; childcare will be available for ages 11 and under.

Easter Sunday (Sunday, April 1st, 9am): Get there early! We will be providing a light continental breakfast of pastries, fruit, coffee, and DONUTS! Breakfast will be served beginning at 8:15am, followed by Easter worship at 9am. After church, we will have an egg hunt outside on the church lawn for all kids age 11 and under. The Easter Bunny will also make a guest appearance for photographs. If your child will participate in the egg hunt, please bring a basket or bag to collect eggs.

Please do continue to share the above graphic via text/direct message/social media. We look forward to seeing you and your friends on Sunday!

Heartland Prom/After Prom (Saturday April 28th): Just a reminder that the Early Bird period for prom registration will be ending a week after Easter. Cost is still $55 per person, but will be $60 per person beginning April 9th. Afterprom lock-in is $20 per person, no price increase after April 8th. Registration for both will remain open through Sunday, April 22nd. Go here to register for both:

See you on Sunday! I’ll be the one hoarding all the Boston Creme donuts. 😉
