Our lesson will focus on “springing forward” for God, and discussing how He may want to use us. In preparation for this, we invite all women to do the following:

Pray and fast on March 7th. We will be linking arms with the sisters in our fellow Heartland churches and our sister churches worldwide to take part in a day of prayer and fasting, where we ask God for direction on how He wants to use us.

Press for Progress on March 8th. As part of the worldwide International Women’s Day on 3/8, we encourage all women to take the first steps in doing whatever our Father has placed upon your heart to do.

Friends,

It’s that time of year! Here’s how to download your your giving statement from 2017. I do recommend doing this on your laptop/desktop if possible, as opposed to a mobile device.

1. www.mygatewaycitychurch.com
2. Enter your login information (or click the “Forgot Username or Password?” link if you need help recalling this info.)
3. From the column on the left, select “Give” (the dollar sign icon).
4. On the “Give” page, you’ll see three tabs: “Give”, “Schedules/History”, and “Pledges”. Select “Schedules/History”.
5. On the far right, you’ll see a button labeled, “Giving Statement”.  Press it.
6. Set the parameters for your report. For those who are married, I recommend selecting “Family”, as this will return all contributions from both you and your spouse. From the “Quick Date Range” menu select “Last Year”. Then click “Run Report”.
7. The report will be generated as a PDF, which you can print off for your taxes.

Gateway Family,

It may seem silly, but one of my bucket list items is to make the pilgrimage to Punxsutawney, PA to participate in the annual Groundhog Day festival. (C’moooon, early spring!) Did you know that the roots of Groundhog Day can actually be traced back to the Christian church? You can read the full story, and also learn about other famous groundhogs HERE.

These are open to ALL parents of kids ages infant thru high school. Light refreshments will be provided, but please also feel free to bring a snack to share. THE WEEKLY

Family,

Confession: I do enjoy reading my Bible. But when I think of reading the WHOLE Bible, in a single year, something like this comes to mind:

918b2f71-985d-45b9-aab2-2fd26648d247

Without a plan, I’m sunk! Which is why I’m incredibly grateful for the resources Jason and Tyler have provided to help all of us reach this goal by the end of the year.

If you haven’t already downloaded the Read Scripture app, I HIGHLY recommend you do so now! CLICK HERE to access the links to both the Apple and Android versions of the app. I’ve been using this for a few days now and have found it makes Bible reading much easier. The daily readings are broken up into manageable sections of about 3-4 chapters plus one Psalm reading. Some days also have links included to animated videos from The Bible Project, which have helped me to see the bigger picture of the overall themes. Plus (more honesty), I love cartoons! So getting to watch a video feels like a little reward for sticking with the plan.

The Read Scripture app is definitely the best option if you have a smartphone or tablet. But for those who do not, a PDF version of the reading plan is available HERE. And you can access the supplemental videos HERE. Videos can searched by the title provided on the PDF.

Links to these resources are also available on our website and Gateway app.

New Videos: More good news! Remember when Michael Burns came to visit back in December to film his “Crossing the Line” Workshops? The videos are now available!  Feel free to share; these will also be linked to our website on the “Sermons” page.

Also, Jeff Hughes’s sermon from two weeks ago is also now available! We had a few technical issues in the last couple weeks but our AV team is working hard to fix them. Last week’s sermon will be available soon!

Upcoming events:

Family Devotional (Wednesday, February 7th, 7pm): Practicals! Lu and Jill Garcia will be leading our next Family Devotional and will have several practicals for all of our parents. Light refreshments will be provided, but please also feel free to bring a snack to share. Childcare will also be available for age 11 and under.

Marriage Retreat (February 10th and 11th, Tan-Tar-A): Even more good news! The Columbia Church has added additional rooms to the hotel block. The reservation link has been reopened, and you can once again book your room online HERE. Full details and registration for the retreat itself can found HERE. If you have questions about the retreat, please contact Vince Hawkins (Vhawk38@gmail.com).

Singles Valentines Party (Friday, February 16th, 7pm): Food, music, and entertainment! Open to all singles. Please contact Alex Hanna for details (314-302-5065).

Congregational Devotional (Friday, February 23rd, 7pm): It’s family time! Please make plans to join us for the first congregational devotional of the year. Childcare will be provided.

SAVE THE DATE! Daddy Daughter Dance – Saturday, March 3rd. More details to come soon.

See you on Sunday!
