THE WEEKLY: HYC/HKK, Women’s Day, Baby Shower

Did you know… today was National Proofreading Day! From

March 8 is Proofreading Day. The day promotes error-free communication and encourages everyone to spend some time updating and expanding his or her proofreading skills.

Fun Fact: Our Communications Director usually does her best proofreading right  after she sends an all-church email. 😉

Here’s what’s coming…

Justine Alexander’s Baby Shower (Saturday, March 11th, 10am – 12pm) – ALL sisters are invited to a baby shower to celebrate the homecoming of Hannah Alexander, daughter of Justine and Jason Alexander! Click HERE to view the invitation. Justine is registered at Target and Babies R Us.

Last Nights of the King: 2017 Women’s Day (Saturday, March 18th, 9:30-11:30am) –  Good news! Although we had originally planned to cut off online registration this Sunday, we have extended the online registration deadline to Wednesday, March 15.

As of now, about 40% of our seats in the sanctuary are filled. We do still plan to have onsite registration the day of the event,  but ONLY if there is space available. We will not be using the overflow seating in the lobby for this event.

One of the best options to share about this event is to show your friends the video trailer. There are two easy ways to do this:

1. Via text: Share the direct link to the video trailer (, and include a message like this, “Hey Suzy, my church is showing this as part of our annual Women’s Day, and I’d love for you to be my guest! It’s Saturday the 18th, 9:30 – 11:30 and includes a continental breakfast and the show. Would you like to join me?”

2. Via Facebook: You can access the post for the video on Facebook HERE.  Click on “Share” and–very important!–tag specific FB friends in your post with a message like this: “Suzy Smith and Betty Jones – my church is hosting this and I’d love for you to be my guest, would you like to join me? Saturday 3/18, 9:30 – 11:30.”

THE WEEKLY: Baby Shower, Special Missions, HKK

Brothers and Sisters,

Our church family is growing! Please welcome Cole William Barkley (on the left), born on February 17th to Samantha and Brenton Barkley, and Hannah Ariella Alexander (right), born on January 22nd and brought home on February 28th to adoptive parents Jason and Justine Alexander! Moms, dads, and babies are all doing great!

A baby shower is planned for Hannah Alexander on Saturday, March 10th. This is an open invite shower; all sisters are welcome to attend. Click HERE to view the invitation.

Special Missions Contribution (Sunday, May 21st) – How are your plans going for this year’s missions contribution? We encourage all of our members to pray on the amount they will give this year.

Our goal is $95,000. The first $75,000 will be sent to support the Eurasian churches. The remaining $20,000 will stay right here in the Heartland to support our Campus and Youth and Family Ministries, specifically, allowing us to hire interns for these two ministries. Many incredible leaders have come out of these internships, including our own Matthew Blair, Lincoln Gifford, and Tyler Moser!

May 21st is our Special Missions Sunday, but you are welcome to give part or all of your missions contribution anytime between now and then.

Last Nights of the King: 2017 Women’s Day (Saturday, March 18th, 9:30-11:30am) – The Early Bird Deadline is approaching quickly. Only four days remain to purchase tickets at the reduced price of $8 per person.

Tickets will be available for sale on Sunday at church, but we do highly recommend purchasing online between now and Sunday if you are able.
