THE WEEKLY: Prayers for Reach2016, Parenting Workshop, + More

prayer
Yesterday, we launched our Reach2016 Prayer Warriors group. Since then over 150 people from all over North America have made the commitment to pray for Reach. And that number is still climbing! Prayer is the most important thing you can do to ensure the success of the Summit. If you can commit to at least 20 minutes a week, we want you on our team.

Click here to become Reach2016 Prayer Warrior, and to read our prayer request list.

Prayer warriors are people known for regularly interceding on behalf of others before God. To intercede means “to come between”, so prayer warriors are, in effect, coming between God and the challenges facing someone else. We are asking all Gateway brothers and sisters to become prayer warriors. You would intercede on behalf of Reach2016, and the team working to make it a success.  Satan is working hard to derail our efforts to make this Summit great, but we serve a God who is far more powerful. With the collective prayers of so many, Reach will surely succeed.

Thank you for making time for this important task!

Coming soon…

Minor Prophets Class:  Ed Carr’s “Minor Prophets” class will meet each Tuesday in April, beginning on April 5th (7pm). Come learn about Jonah’s ministry outside the whale, that God’s love for us is a jealous love, complaining to God is a ‘prophet-like’ behavior, not all prophets were Israelites, and even the boldest prophets had a sense of humor. Expand your knowledge of God’s word, and learn more about His character and His love for you!

Parenting Workshop:  Parents, save the dates for our annual parenting workshop on Friday, April 15th (7pm), and Saturday April 16th (9:30am). Friday night’s class will feature an interaction and discussion for parents of Middle School, High School, and College students.  Saturday morning will be a time of collaborative learning for parents of toddlers thru Grade School students. Our guest speakers for both sessions will be Dave and Angela Hooper.

Child care will be available for the Saturday workshop, however you must sign up if you plan to bring your children.

Click here to sign up for child care during the Saturday Parenting Workshop.

Titus 2 Class: All women are invited to join us for the next quarterly Titus 2 class on Saturday, April 23 at 9:30am. Lori Mannel will be speaking on the power of the tongue.  Our tongues are the strongest muscle in our body and spiritually speaking, possess incredible potential to do good or evil!  The Bible has a lot to say (no pun intended) about our speech, and we will learn together how to honor God in this aspect of our lives.

Prayer Requests:

Please pray for our sister Antionette Dismuke, as she mourns the loss of her mother, who passed away on Monday morning.

About 120 seats remain, all for the closing show. Remaining seats are in the Upper Tier (only $15 each). If you are planning on going, you need to
purchase your tickets this week while you still can. At the current pace, all five shows will be completely sold out by the end of this month.

Summer Camp: If you’ve filled out the Summer Camp Spot Check Form, thank you! If you haven’t, there’s still time. Here’s what’s on deck:

34q2sfpLamentations + Director’s Cut Classes: Our Lamentations series will conclude this coming Sunday, and the final Director’s Cut class will be Sunday night at 6:00pm. Similar to the director’s cut of a movie, the evening classes will include extra content not included in the Sunday sermon, plus time for discussion.

These are meaty, dig-into-your-Bible classes; you’ll be amazed how much ground we cover in just one hour! Each “Director’s Cut” class also stands on its own, so you can come this week even if you haven’t come before.  Childcare is not provided for the evening classes.

Want to catch up? The sermons and Director’s Cut classes are available on our website and mobile app. On the app, sermons can be found under “Watch”, Director’s Cut classes are located under “Listen”.
