THE WEEKLY

Leroy

From Edna Walters:

Dear Gateway,

Leroy and I are incredibly grateful for the overflow of support from all of you! The phone calls, baskets of food, and more have mean so much to us. Your efforts to minister to us and our family have made this difficult time a little easier to bear.

I’m happy to let everyone know that Leroy was moved to the rehabiliation center yesterday and began physical therapy today. Leroy is still in a great deal of pain and will also be undergoing therapy three hours a day. Rest is vital to his recovery, so for now I’d ask that you wait to visit until he is stronger. We also have enough food, but will definitely reach out when more is needed.

Please do continue to pray for Leroy, and for the doctors and therapists working with him. Pray for our family too! Also, if you would like to send some encouragement to Leroy, we’d welcome cards and notes sent to our home: 4125 Schumacher Road, High Ridge, MO 63049. (No flowers, please.) I’ll make sure your cards get delivered to Leroy so he can read them as he is able.

Love,
Edna

Here’s what’s coming up…and a few “save the dates” for summertime events:

Men’s Breakfast (Saturday March 16th, 9am): Men and boys, come feast on eggs and bacon! At the Denny’s on Dorsett near 270.

Gateway Gaming Ministry (Saturday March 16th, 6pm – 9:30pm): A few small changes for this Saturday’s meet-up, since our normal “gamemaster” Brian Homan is on vacation this week…”deputy gamemaster” Angie McDonald will be overseeing this weekend, and she has asked that all attending bring a game or two of their own to play (don’t worry, you’ll get it back at the end of the night!) Also please bring a snack or beverage to share with the group. This new ministry is open to all age 6 and up, who would like to come and play short board/card games with others. A great way to get to know your brothers and sisters (and Gateway kids) better!

Women’s Midweek (Wednesday March 27th, 7pm): Ladies, like Robin mentioned last week, new start time will be 7pm. Please arrive by 6:30 if you’d like to fellowship beforehand.

Congregational Devotional (Friday April 5th, 7pm): This too will have an actual start time of 7pm; childcare will be provided.

April Singles Devotional (Friday April 12th, 7pm)

Easter Weekend —
Good Friday Devotional (Friday April 19th, 7pm) and Easter Sunday (Sunday April 21st, 10am)
Shareable invites for these two events will be coming soon! Childcare will be provided at both events.

Summertime Save-the-Dates: More info about these events will be shared later, but for now make sure these are included on your calendar:

Church Olympics (July 18th – July 28th)

Gateway Camping Trip (August 16th – August 18th)

HEARTLAND JUBILEE  in KC (Labor Day weekend, August 30th – September 1st)

That’s all for now!
Kathy

PS: I will be on vacation next week so there won’t be a bulletin at church for the next two Sundays, or a Weekly update next Wednesday. Will resume updates on Wednesday, March 27th.

THE WEEKLY

hellobear
Good afternoon, Gateway,

With help from many of you, I’m happy say that the most recent round of database updates has been completed! The Mailchimp mailing list was also updated earlier this week, and several new emails were added in the process. If this email is your first from Gateway, welcome!

Couple notes about our emails:

  • Generally, you can expect to receive “The Weekly” on Wednesdays.Occasionally we may also send out an additional notes on other days, but I do my best to keep emails to no more than 2 per week.
  • If you miss an email, or need to refer back to one, you can always find the last six “Weeklys” on our website, HEREYou can find this on our website by going to “watch + read” on the navigation bar, then click “the weekly” to view past emails.
  • Participation in this mailing list is always optional. If you prefer not to receive emails from Gateway, you can unsubscribe yourself by using the “unsubscribe” link, located at the bottom of all our emails.
  • If you have general questions or comments, you can always reply to this email. But questions about specific events are best relayed to the listed contact person for that event.

Lots going on this weekend!

On Friday night, we have our first Congregational Devotional of the year! (February 22nd, 7pm). Childcare will be provided. We have a lot to discuss so please do attend if you can.

Sunday will be our “Cultural Diversity” service and potluck (February 24th, 10am). If you haven’t already, please connect with your Family Group Leader about what dish you will be bringing, so they can complete the appropriate form.

After our potluck concludes, all women are invited to attend Keiza Taylor’s baby shower (February 24th, 3pm). This shower is open to all but please RSVP to Stacy (314-504-4876) or Maribel (314-374-2415) if you plan to attend. Keiza is registered at Walmart.
